The Trobador

The Trobador or Troubador was a composer and performer of lyric poetry during the high medieval period and has been chosen as the name of our signature Carménère wine.

Carménère is a variety originally planted in the medoc region of Bordeaux but is rarely found there now due to climate change. This wine has been matured in new european oak barrels.

It has an aroma of rich sage, thyme, blackcurrant and dark chocolate. Its palate displays intense dark forest berries, rich chocolate and blood orange with a lingering finish of dry tobacco leaf and velvet tannins. It is ideally suited to go with Lamb Shanks or an Osso Bucco with risoni.

Ready to drink now or cellar for up to 10 years.
