Our Heritage Range highlights areas of local Mildura history with ties to the Chaffey Brothers who founded the Mildura Irrigation Colony In 1887. The Port of Mildura was the City’s transport and industrial hub for its first 20 years, with most freight into and out of the district transported by paddlesteamer until the arrival of the railway. The first timber wharf was constructed in 1892, prior to then it had been an earthen landing as pictured.
This Tawny a blend of rich Shiraz and textural Cabernet displays the time honoured Australian style of extended maturation, in Chateau Mildura’s case using its ancient Tun barrels. Balancing luscious sweetness with its subtle long drying finish it displays notes of caramel, dried fruits and spice evolving into lingering coffee and nutty rancio characters.
Perfect with coffee after a meal, or for a decadent desert treat as a perfect match to a oozing chocolate fondant.
