The Mildura Irrigation Colony was founded on temperance principles with the hope that settlers would opt for the European drinking tradition of fine wines in moderation, rather than excessive consumption of spirits. In 1888 the Chaffey Brothers established Chateau Mildura to produce such wines. A selection of the best quality wines have been released under the Psyche Reserve label.
This wine has black cherry, plum and spice aromas. The palate has strong berry fruit flavours, which combine with firm tannins and soft oak characters to provide a good length and depth of flavour.
